When I was two years old I went to a therapy centre. When mummy used to leave me there and go I used to cry a lot. I used to feel sad and lost like 'Nana Soover ' (the little piglet) and I thought that mummy would leave me alone in the centre and go. I felt that I had lost my mummy just like ‘Nana Soover’ the little piglet in the story book I used to read. That is why I used to cry and feel scared.
Mum speaks
I had bought a children’s Hindi book about a little piglet who could not find his mum on a farm. Reh didn’t really understand Hindi but obviously had grasped the story line. He repeatedly asked me to read this book to him and loved imitating the baby piglet crying out ‘mummy mummy’. It is only when he wrote this piece that I figured out why he cried at the therapy centre. He probably was trying to make a connection and explain his feelings to me through this story but I never understood.
